Founder, Owner and Physical Therapist at Pisgah Movement Alliance
Who I am.
I am a Physical Therapist, bodyworker, hiker, backpacker, runner, climber, biker, and overall movement enthusiast. I love to learn, grow, and explore. I grew up in the small town of Trumansburg, NY playing on the ball field, woods, streams, lakes and ponds.
Why I do, what I do.
It is one of the great honors of my life to walk with people along a journey toward moving and feeling well for a lifetime.
I found Physical Therapy beginning with my love for movement and play. Being outdoors and active have been consistent joys throughout my life. Being in nature and moving my body helps me to feel more connected to myself and the world around me. Helping others enjoy what they love is central to what keeps me motivated to learn, grow and adapt as a healthcare provider. My clients have been my greatest teachers as we partner together to resolve boundaries keeping them from finding freedom with movement.
After 11 years as Physical Therapist, I founded a private practice in Seattle, WA because I envisioned an approach that was unhurried, focused, highly individualized and treated the whole person. I found in my previous work settings that I was unable to provide the level of care I knew was possible and that people deserved. I came to a point where I knew if I were to remain a Physical Therapist, I would need to create something different. Before I knew it, I found myself in a job I loved and helping people in ways I could have only previously dreamed of. I moved with my partner Jenna to Brevard because we were driven to return to the east coast to be closer to family, closer to nature and return to my roots of living in a small town. I am bringing what I have learned from 15 years as a Physical Therapist to this community and am delighted to have been so warmly welcomed.
What I do.
My practice is grounded in training as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I have worked in orthopedics for 15 years where I combine a hands on approach of advanced manual therapy and corrective exercise designed to focus on restoring efficiency with movement and then progressively loading these new efficient movement patterns with functional movement progression. I have practiced in a wide range of settings since 2008 in the United States as well as humanitarian aid volunteer work in Nepal, Vietnam, Japan, and Cameroon where I expanded my understanding of how stress and trauma impact the body and working through the body is essential to find connection and balance. I find that combining body centered, trauma informed care with my specialty in orthopedics, clients get better, faster, and with an understanding of how to keep their bodies feeling and moving well.
I enjoy working with people across their lifespan. I believe Physical Therapy should be more than treating pain, but a a primary healthcare provider for movement beyond treating one injury. This includes prevention, recovery and performance optimization. I enjoy working with people across the continuum of care from Prevention—> Recovery—> Performance whether they are a seasoned athlete, looking to make lifestyle change, or recovering from a major setback.
Through an integrated approach to Physical Therapy, you will get highly individualized and focused care. My goal is to offer exceptional care to our community at a pace which allows for us to slow down, address root causes, and empowering you to move and feel well for a lifetime.

Where you’ll find me.
You may see me running, biking and walking around Brevard, across ridge-lines and trails through the forest, floating rivers, hiking, rock climbing, a yoga class or a local music venue. I believe my ability to care for people is grounded in my education, but more importantly, rooted in my own self exploration of movement.
